The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.

Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion.

We absolutely loved our trip to the Grand Canyon! We wanted to make a trip but with it being a 3-4 hour drive from Scottsdale, we didn’t want to drive there on our own. Our guide Stephen was so amazing, he was so knowledgeable and talked through everything we were seeing on the drive there, covering the history, landscape, social and cultural background, and more. Something we would’ve never gotten driving there on our own. The bus was comfortable, and we made stops every 1.5 hours or so. Definitely a long day, and while you have ample opportunity to get food and snacks, I’d definitely recommend bringing some water and snacks. We had about 3.5 hours in the park, with 3 stops for: pictures, a more guided stop, and 2 hours to explore on your own and get lunch - the El Tovar was great for lunch. If you’re considering visiting the Grand Canyon while in Pheonix/Scottsdale I can’t recommend this enough, very efficient, enjoyable, and comprehensive.

Seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time was magnificent, but with Steve as the guide, took it to new levels. Educated, entertaining, just top notch what you’d want from a Guide!!! Thanks to Steve and Viator!!!!

Our tour guide Diane was the best!! Just the perfect storyteller and helpful in every way..We had several teens with us and they all loved it and stayed engaged all day! We loved this tour-- well worth the time and money.
