The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.

Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion.

We booked a trip from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon and had Aldo as our driver. We liked it so much we booked another tour with him to Sedona. We highly recommend doing these tours.

My spouse and I did our first ever day tour of the Grand Canyon south rim after attending a fabulous Van Morrison concert in Phoenix the prior evening. Dan was our tour guide and impressed us with his knowledge, professionalism, and caring nature. He was extremely conscientious and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and that our needs were met. He gave us a wealth of information about the area to include people, history, geography, etc.!! His knowledge of all things Grand Canyon is impressive. Much thanks to Dan for contributing to an excellent holiday in Arizona!!

We had 21 business owners meeting in Phoenix and spent a day with Detours visiting Grand Canyon and Sedona. Had a great experience all around from start to finish. Communication with Rachel through out the planning and booking phase was top notch. On the morning of the tour Jen and Tracy showed up early with two 13 passenger vans. We had plenty of room and we’re comfortable. They both went above and beyond making sure we had a great experience. It was a long day from 6:30am -7:30pm and we never felt like they were rushing us. The group had a really great time. I would use Detours again and would definitely recommend them. Kudos team Detours!
