Thee comments are addressed at international travellers. This 'Deluxe' trip was anything but deluxe; five hours up and four hours back in a cramped people carrier, with a driver on the way up who had his hands off the steering wheel for a large part of the time and talked non-stop, mainly about Phoenix, himself, and the wild life. Almost nothing about the Grand Canyon. Happily, I decided to stay overnight as nine hours travel for three hours at the Canyon doesn't make any sense. There was a pointless half hour stop in Williams, which was under several inches of snow with treacherous icy pavements. No allowance had been made in the programme for the adverse conditions. but in fact, seeing the Canyon completely snow covered was quite special.
The best bit about the trip was the pick-up and drop-off arrangements, which were excellent. The booking process was also fairly efficient, although I was told there was availability in my first choice hotel, which turned out to be wrong.

Hi Susan...Thank you for your feedback. We take safety very seriously here at DETOURS and know that we have rectified the situation with the guide. Obviously it is always our intention to make passengers feel safe, all while being informed properly of what they are seeing and where they are visiting. With it being winter, the Canyon and Williams are both understandably cold and snow filled. We make the stop in Williams to give guests an opportunity to stretch their legs, see Route 66, and check out the local shops, while our guide picks up boxed lunches. In regards to the room at the Canyon, we always try to book the best available room. Rooms at the Grand Canyon Village go quickly and are generally booked up far in advance. We are sorry you did not get your first choice, but we hope you enjoyed seeing the Canyon in its snowy splendor. Thank you for your time and have a great day!
