The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.

This adventure was amazing. I highly recommend it. I was in town for a wedding and arrived a few days early. I wanted to see the Grand Canyon and had no one to travel with so I booked this trip. Our driver / tour guide Montana was entertaining and knowledgeable. I was picked up at my hotel in Phoenix at about 6:30 in the morning and there were already a few passengers. We ended up with 8 passengers but could have held 11. The seats were captains chairs and were quite comfy. I am a big man and had no issues. Montana supplied bottled water and stopped nearly every hour for bathroom breaks. The other tourists on the van were as amazing as the he was. We all became family and had a blast together.

We made several stops which included Sedona, Route 66 and of course the Grand Canyon. There were plenty of bathroom breaks along the way. A deli sandwich lunch with all the fixings was provided and was quite tasty. There was also chicken Caesar salad option as well as meatless salad.

The Grand Canyon was the star of the show and it was just spectacular. Words nor pictures could not describe what you see with your eyes. Seeing the Grand Canyon should be on everyones bucket list. The wildlife was plentiful. We saw a condor, elk, deer and plenty of squirrels. I will definitely go back and when I do will use Detours tour group and hopefully get Montana as my tour guide.

They do offer a side trip to view the Grand Canyon by helicopter. I tried to book that as well but did it too late. Next trip I will be sure to do this. If your interested ask when you book the tour.

If your Tour Guide does a good job please tip them. Mine certainly earned it.

Had a great day with Jason as our Tour Guide for the Grand Canyon South Rim Tour. Its a long day with lots of driving but well worth it when you get to the Grand Canyon. Jason was super informative, easy going, happy to help with any requests or questions. Lots of stops to stretch your legs. Bus is super comfortable with endless water and lunch is fine. Probably don't need so long in Sedona (town) or Williams but its nice to get out of the bus. Grand Canyon itself was incredible. Jason provided an great insight into it which really helped. Overall loved it!
