Amazing view. Stayed on the Canadian side, absolutely beautiful views of the horseshoe falls, bridal falls and the American falls. But the coloured lights at night made a mockery of nature's wonderment. The Las Vegas like shopping strip was tacky and surprising, didn't add anything to the trip! Because of the border crossings we were very rushed at breakfast so if you're a foodie this could be problem! Actually the food part of the tour is sustenance only but economical (time wise and financially) except for the overnight stay when you could choose your own at your leisure!
Disgusting coach, no flush on toilet, no water or handwash, not good on a long journey. Seemed to be a problem with screen wipers and demisters which was worrying because vision was not good through windscreen and potentially dangerous at speeds we were doing in very bad weather conditions.Macdonalds for breakfast and a Chinese buffet for lunch ( no option) both 2nd rate. Tour guide although quite nice didn't have English as 1st language. Delays meant we were very late getting to hotel which was quite a way out of the main drag in Niagara (Canada). Luckily everything stays open late and the shops accepted USA dollars.Hotel ( Super 8?) very disappointing, old fashioned ( not 'quaint') and one tiny bar of soap between 3. Was told our hotel was better than the one on USA side so hate too think how bad that was. Breakfast across the hotel car park was a buffet affair which was too rushed and too packed due to several coach loads of diners all trying to get to the border early, to recross into USA. Lunch on the way back to New York was slightly better ( buffet American style) but not enough toilets for size of place. Stop at outlet mall was ok if you like shopping but not awe inspiring or particularly cheap. On the plus side the water fall at the glen was interesting if you can walk and negotiate lots of steps and Niagara Falls was magnificent. Be prepared to get wet on Maid of Mist boat tour despite being provided with plastic macs.
We enjoyed our trip to Niagra Falls primarily due to the relaxed and professionalism of our guide Ben.also the itinerary was well paced and relaxing.
