Compared to many of our parks, the Everglades are hard to connect to. Garl's Coastal Kayak trip completely changed that dynamic. I went with Don and we saw baby alligators, walked in two Cypress Domes (one of the most magical things ever) and had a great time kayaking fresh and salt water while the sun set. Don knows the science, but doesn't overwelm you with it. He is an a+ birder, who seamlessly adjusts to the interests of the group. I especially appreciated that he knows how to relax and let the quiet of the place work its spell. This is one of the very best "tours" (it feels like being with expert friends) I have been on. Btw, don't worry about the wading -- it was easy and clean; I think my pants were cleaner at the end then when I started.
