It was a great visit, with a lot to see and learn about the French Quarter architecture and life in the second half of 19th century. As someone who took a lot of tours all over the world, I ought to remark the surprisingly pleasant experience with the house tour guide, Danielle. Even if it was obvious that she narrated the same story to so many visitors before, she succeeded to make us feel that she was there for us, that small group of visitors. Not to mention that the narration itself was very rich in information, well organised and with a well balanced, thoughtful presentation of the family and house, combined with the life of the enslaved people who served the family and the relationship between them. We were the last group that day but Danielle answered very kindly, diligently and patiently all our questions. Something to remember!

If you’d like a peak into the past of an upper middle class family in the 1860’s in the French Quarter then this is the tour for you! Our guide was very informative and passionate about this museum and all the folks who have lived here. It’s a wonderful tour!

I love Nola, with all my heart. But this tour almost took me out. There was so much mold upstairs that I had to leave out. There was mold growing out of the ceiling upstairs. The tour guide seemed to not care that I couldn’t breathe and was about to pass out. I brought to her attention that you could smell the mold once you got to the top of the stairs and that’s dangerous. She just looked at me with this blank stare. Please get the building treated and cleaned before sometime horrible happens.
