After doing a LOT of research we decided to do this tour instead of the train trip, mainly to see a glacier up close as described on the website.
I have been advising against it to any friends that have seen another glacier, or will as part of their holiday.
Boat trip out to the property was good on the return we saw some sea lions on some rocks but unfortunately no whales.
The old bus journey to the place we got into our gear seemed a little bit gimicky and used to fill in time. The canoe trip was ok but not as picturesque as I had imagined and an outboard was used for most of the trip.
There was nothing really wrong with it, just did not live up to our expectations I suppose, as per the website pictures and other reviews. Maybe also the cold rainy weather did not help!
I don't know what time of year the pictures on their website, but we were there early in the season in May, and we certainly didn't canoe near any ice, only gravelly shore where we disembarked.
The pictures show you in a boat near the galcier, and also people touching or nearby.
This didnt happen. In fact, we went up to a gravelly shore, got off our canoes and walked a little way up and were stopped because there were safety concerns about the glacier. Fair enough but this has been known for a long time and should be pointed out that you dont get close to the galcier..
The luch was ok, a sandwich, but very rushed and we didnt get time to finish before we were told to go down to the shore and board the arriving boats with the next lot of tourists.
We saw much more of other glaciers on the rest of the cruise, and in Canada.
I can't recommend this trip because you could certainly do a boat tour , the most enjoyable part, for less money and time, and you can see better glaciers elsewhere on your cruise.
I am giving this 1 star for glacier part and 3 stars for boat trip
