We took this train ride after calling and checking the policies to be followed based on current covid 19 spikes in infection. We were told that masks were required at all times and social distancing would be done. We paid for the dome car and looked forward to the ride. As we pulled out, most masks were now off. I spoke to a supervisor, who checked and came back to me and told me that "policies can change with conditions." I expressed further concern, politely, and asked that they enforce the policy we were promised. Later, the senior manager showed up, and told us that while he had started out trying to enforce the policy, it was too difficult to do so on a long train. I noted that no one had even tried in our train car, not a word had been said, and he just said again it was too hard to enforce and walked away. Not much later, a guitar player and his son entered our train and began a round of boisterous sing along songs - think potential virus spewing everywhere. Only 3 of us still wore masks. In addition, be award that while advertising leads you to think you will see the Grand Canyon from the train, you will not. Nor wildlife, you are too high up. You will see nearly 3 hours of pine trees and vast scrub lands. Not worth the cost at all, even without this problem.
