A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

We are a certified Responsible Whale Watching partner with the World Cetacean Alliance located in Dana Point, CA, the Dolphin and Whale Capital of the World®, and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas.

Our captain Marie and guide Katelyn did a great job getting us where the Dolphins were at first and then finished out the trip with a blue whale viewing. So fun. Highly recommend the smaller boats they can get there faster !

I can't recommend Captain Dave's tours highly enough. My husband and I went on 3 Zodiac and 3 Signature tours during our visit to Dana Point, we couldn't get enough of them. Throughout the two weeks we were there we saw Blue, Fin, Humpback and Minke whales, common, bottlenose and Risso dolphins and Mola Mola. We were made to feel so welcome right from the start by the reception staff. ALL the crew were friendly, enthusiastic, energetic and highly knowledgeable about the area and the animals, but I have to give a particular shout out to Captain Marie and Hannah who really made our trips special. The crew know exactly where to take you for the best chance of encounters, making sure you have the best fun with the wildlife whilst disturbing them little and showing them the greatest respect. If we're ever in the area again, we'll be heading straight for Captain Dave's.

I have been going to Captain Dave’s Safari tour for over 10 yrs every Mother’s Dayi take my mom.We usually take the Mateo boat but decided to take the smaller boat zodiac it was amazing.We saw a lot of Dolphin’s,sea lion’s,pelican’s,and Fin whale.
