Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

The Luau show was absolutely amazing. My mother and I attending this Luau and it was the first time either of us have even been to one. We were extremely happy with the overall performance of this show. They did an amazing job bringing their stories to life and we learned a lot while enjoying this show. The actors were amazing and did a great job between each story. The only negative feedback I have is the food selection. I thought there would be multiple selections of authentic Hawaiian food but there was only very few. There was more Asian cuisine entrees than anything else. I highly recommend attending the Luau for the show but not for the food.

This Luau had a really nice show. The entertainment in between was nice as well. My husband and I purchased the package with hotel pick up/drop off, train ride and regular admission. We were staying at the royal sonesta. If you have a rental then no need to pay extra for the pick up as it was super close. I should of looked into that beforehand. The train ride occurred first after being dropped off. We enjoyed the train ride it was nice and you get to feed the animals which we enjoyed. Only drawback was we missed the photo opportunity they offer and we didn't know until they announced to go look at them for purchase. They do have an open bar which closes right before the main show. They do announce beforehand. The food was not very good. The chicken was dry,tough. The fish mushy texture. Fruit was good. Sides aren't great either. The pork was moist and they had a good Chile oil. They definitely could use improvement in the area with the food. You do start with a salad with 2 dressing options and Hawaiian bread roll.

I brought my two granddaughters on a graduation from high school trip and they both really enjoyed it. They told their parents on the phone how wonderful everything was. I purchased rings from a vendor as souvenir . great show,delicious food
