This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

We loved this tour. The entire family participated and we had such a blast. We met Dallas Seavey and got to learn a bit about the dogs and what it’s like doing the Iditarod races. We were driven to his homestead where we got to see all the sled dogs and play with the puppies. They were so cute and playful. Our guide told us all about what it takes for the dogs and the musher to run the Iditarod and what it takes to keep the dogs happy and healthy. It was very informative and so much fun. We each got to be the musher and run the dogs.

The sled dog ride was so much fun! The track at AK Sled Dogs is terrific — scenic, cool, easy to navigate and ride. In addition to the ride being an absolute blast, touring the kennel and meeting the pups was a really great part of the experience as well. It’s clear the staff is passionate about the dogs and the care they get is a real art and science to this group. For such a large group of dogs, it was heartwarming to see each dog was well known, and had such a unique personality that the staff knew and interacted with based on that. We were also lucky to go by when they had puppies and we got to play with their little “nuggets.” Such a great way to top off an already outstanding experience. This adventure is a “can’t miss” when you are in the Talkeetna area!

It is really cool to hear that you guys enjoyed our scenic trail through the birch forest. Our staff is absolutely passionate about the dogs, and we love sharing each dog's unique story with guests. Well worth the money...what an experience!!! The staff was very informative about the dogs and what we had to do. Extremely friendly people and dogs! It was so much fun riding the trail, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience! Worth every penny!
