This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

This one by far one of the BEST things we did in Alaska but also I will say one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life!!! We had a party of four. 3 adults and a ten year old with 2 sleds. When you arrive you will see all of the dogs barking and going crazy for the tour guides to pick them for the job!! It was so cool to see them barking with excitement as if they were saying, “pick me”, “pick me”!! We were pulled in the sled and I’m sure you could hear us laughing and yelling whoo hoo miles away (lol). Once we returned we got to play with puppies and meet any of the dogs we wanted. Our tour guide was Kevin and he was AWESOME! However, the entire staff was very helpful and so nice. I wish we lived closer so we could do this over and over. SO MUCH FUN!!!! I highly recommend this.

We absolutely love it when the our guests can feel the excitement radiating off of the dog yard when its time to go mushing, and we're so glad that this was a highlight for your group! We absolutely loved this excursion!! It way exceeded our expectations! Elliott and the staff are so knowledgeable and passionate. The dogs are friendly, smart, and well-loved. Driving our own dogsled was exhilarating and unforgettable. If you are in the area, do not miss this experience! The drive from Anchorage is easy and scenic and hanging out with these pups makes the trip well worth it!!

Excellent, Outstanding, wonderful experience!!! After instructions on how to drive the “wheeled “ sled and start and stop the dogs, we were given a team of three dogs and off we went with a guide leading the way. Our rough dirt tract with rock, mud, sand up, down and some sharp curves gave us an exhilarating ride! The dogs were ready to run and run they did!! A real thrill. The dogs were friendly, loved being praised and petted. At the end we met the champion Iditarod huskies (some of them pulled our sleds), learned all about Iditarod and played with the pups. Just a wonderful time. We four Highly recommend Dallas Seavy Sled Dog Tours in Talkeetna AK.
