I pay for a transfer from JFK to Newark and when I got into the taxi, I found that the fare given to me was not correct, or at least that was what the driver and the manager said. So I have to pay an additional 38 dollars charge.
I sent a complaint to viator and I haven't get a reply so far.
I made my choice based on the price, so It is not good to change the price specially at that point where the driver simply told me that either I pay the extra charge or he just couldn't take me to the Newark airport. I didn't want to loose my flight so I had to pay the extra charge.
This makes this service unusable. I hope viator can give me a reasonable explanation.
Pickup was OK. The driver was not content with tip, shouting after the departing passenger, demanding more than 10 of the fare. For foreigners this is not nice, we cannot know what are the expectations.
The driver displayed limited knowledge with respect to finding the destination. His vehicle was in disrepair and we were concerned as to whether or not it would reach the destination. His brakes had no pads and made very uncomfortable sounds each time we stopped. In addition, when we inquired about the tolls, we were quoted the higher price one would pay without an E-Z Pass. Unfortunately for him, I am from NY, and noticed the E-Z Pass on his windshield. Although this service may be of valuable, I would NOT recommend this driver or his vehicle.
