My friend and I took a surf lesson with Jason last week while we were on vacation in the OC. It could not have been better! Since the lesson, we have constantly brought it up as the highlight of our trip (which was amazing overall). The beach he took us to was beautiful and not too busy, with waves that I felt were perfect for our level. He was friendly, professional and patient, and even took pictures for us/with us afterwards. I am beyond jealous of everyone that lives in or frequently visits the OC… and basically anyone that has the opportunity to take lessons with him regularly! When I plan a trip back he will be one of the first people I call.

Jason is an amazing surf instructor. Here are my reasons for 5 stars and why I encourage you to take lessons: 1. Honest about pricing and his service 2. Patient with teaching students how to surf and water safety 3. Knowledgeable about surfing instructions and a students ability level 4. Positive feedback to students 5. Friendly and personable 6. Provided the correct wetsuit size and board 7. Gave us clear directions on where to meet at the beach

When planning our getaway to Southern California, my kids were determined to try surfing. I had taken a few lessons previously and spent most of the time swimming and very little time actually "surfing". Our experience with Jason was completely opposite of my earlier attempts. He is a natural teacher and made us comfortable and confident before even getting on the water. He was energetic and supportive throughout the lesson. In no time, he had us all up on our boards! We spent an amazing morning surfing in Huntington Beach. At all times my kids and I felt safe and encouraged. Jason helped us love surfing and now my kids want to take it up as a sport. We all agreed it was the best part of our trip. While there are no shortage of surf instructors in Southern California, none will get you surfing faster with a better experience. I highly recommend Jason and the team at Learn to Surf.
