We took the Coastal Classic rail trip from Anchorage and spent the day in Seward. Did the "Real Alaska" tour from the Seavey Family while there. Great experience. They were at the rail depot in Seward when we arrived, bus was very comfortable. Went to Kenai Fjords National Park and hiked to Exit Glacier, which was awesome, although we weren't expecting to walk across streams (would have been good to get a heads-up to wear the waterproof shoes back at our hotel). The walk wasn't bad, though - just a suggestion for future guests. Lunch was good and the tour of the dog kennel was a highlight of our trip. We got to meet all the dogs, go for a longer-than-expected dogsled ride in the woods, met and held puppies, and watched an interesting demonstration with the sweetest dog EVER, who allowed them to put all the Iditarod gear on him so we could see what it was like. Very interesting hearing about the life of a dog musher. These are very enthusiastic, dog loving people. Would highly recommend this tour, great way to spend a day in Seward. Oh, BTW, our tour driver (can't remember his name) was great, too. Very informative and patient. One of the older ladies on our tour was hesitant during the hike, and he held her hand while walking across the rocks. I thought that was so sweet of him!
