Admittedly we booked this tour well in advance for the last day of our visit to SD, but by the day of our tour, we already had visited most of what we wanted to see in the previous 5 days. So my wife and I purposefully cut the tour short. Our guide Jeff clearly is very knowledgeable and very proud of the Black Hills and its history. Even though he wanted to make sure he gave us the whole experience as previously planned, he was polite on our request to shorten up the tour which we appreciated. After driving ourselves all over the Bad Lands and Black Hills (as well as out to Devil's Tower), it was a pleasure to be driven around in the open top van to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Sylvan Lake and the Needles Highway. Quite frankly after driving many mountain top roads, being able to actually relax and appreciate the scenery on the Needles Highway was a gift! Jeff made sure we got all the pictures we wanted. Next time I'd try the jeep vs the van. Seems like it would be a lot more fun.

Howdy Omachel -
I'm very happy you enjoyed the Hills touring with us . . . as well as self-touring. I'm thinking you must have seen most of the Hills during your stay
FYI - Travelers
You will need a minimum of four days to visit the four regions of the Hills. It's Big here . . . Black Hills are 125 miles by 70 miles . . . Custer State Park is 110 sq miles (biggest in the nation) . . . Devils Tower and Badlands National Parks are a 2 hours drive from Black Hills . . . Lots of things to do and see.
Thanks for taking time for your review. I'll pass on your kind words to Jeff.
