What To Expect

Tampa Water Taxi Company

After boarding your cruise, you'll travel out in the bay to see pods of friendly Atlantic Bottle-nose dolphins. Your captain will bring you to areas where these dolphins spend their day feeding, playing and raising there young. Just outside Tampa's downtown is the nursery for Tampa Bay's dolphin population where mothers and calves frolic the day away. Your guide will explain the daily life and habits of the dolphin on this 1.5-hour cruise. When your guides spot the pods of dolphins, the boat will stop within 30 feet (10 meters) or less as the guides have ways to get them to come right to the boats. Keep your cameras ready as you will see dolphins closer than you ever thought. You will be a master of dolphin spotting by the end of your cruise! After seeing the dolphins you'll head back to to downtown Tampa, cruising the channels and river and learning about the great city of Tampa.

My husband, daughter, and I looked forward to taking this 1.5 dolphin sightseeing cruise from Tampa and were disappointed because thunderstorms required that the cruise be cancelled. We sure do appreciate the care for our safety; just disappointed that we did not get to enjoy this experience. Our trip was refunded in full within a few hours. A SUGGESTION: Taxi driver could not find the location. I called the company listed on ad for this cruise and I was informed PWT3; cab driver stated that there was no such place. He and I both called the number; no better information (person who answered the phone was in Las Vegas). I then called the number on the registration confirmation and received notice that the event was already cancelled due to thunderstorms. A) LIST correct phone number on weblink to this cruise; B) LIST ADDRESS, with link to directions, on the website! IF we are even in Tampa again, we will try this cruise, but at an earlier time of the day; seems storms are regular event around 3-5 PM. ALSO, your list of folks needs another category, below: My husband and I planned this event WITH our adult daughter. THANK YOU.

Unfortunately weather does change quickly in Florida, Our guests safety is our first mission. We do not always get direct phone #s to inform you of changes by online venders of our tours. Our grandchildren were disappointed that we didn’t see any dolphins. We were told we could come back and try it again for free. The views were nice and the captain knowledgeable about the area.

It is dispointing to us too. But we are dealing with wild creatures that do what they want (thats what makes our tour so special). As you were told at the end of our trip. You may return ANYTIME (no time limit for your return as your tickets are marked still good to use) till we give you an encounter that you will live with for a lifetime. This policy IS stated on our web site. Just call and let us know when you want to return.
