What To Expect
1
The Mitten Buttes And Merrick Butte
First, we'll assign you a horse based on your experience, weight, and height. Then we'll start galloping towards the West Mitten Butte, followed by the East Mitten Butte. They are also known together as, The Mittens. When viewed from the south, the buttes appear to be two gigantic mittens with their thumbs facing inwards. If you capture the Merrick Butte at an angle you see that it's between the West & East Mitten Buttes. All three buttes are commonly seen together in many popular films and images. Its elevation is over 6,200 ft making it one of the tallest buttes in Monument Valley.
2
Sentinel Mesa
Located northwest of The Mittens, it's a mountain with an elevation of over 6,400 ft. Most of the mesa is in the state of Utah, but a small southern section of it is in the state of Arizona. This breathtaking mesa can be seen from the Monument Valley Visitor Center.

This was an outstanding activity! From the start to the end all employees were extremely professional and accommodating from the beginning to the end. Elijah was our tour guide and he was exceptional. He had tremendous knowledge about anything you would want to know about the landmarks, vegetation, Navajo culture, history and tradition as well as horses. We highly recommend this tour!

The guide was great and the ride was pleasurable. The weather was perfect. The horses are beautiful. We did trot quite a bit and did some running too. So glad we did this!
