Wonderful excursion to take while in Sedona! Very organized and fantastic guides. Relaxing float down the Verde River. Great food and wine at the end.

So much fun! The kayak tour down the Verde River is NOT something that requires any skill. It is very easy and everyone we spoke with had the same experience where you got spun around and stuck from time to time but it was fun, not scary. We saw river otters and even a flock of American Avocets along the way. We went in late summer and did the 10 am tour, and I think in the summer months the first time of the day will be best to try and beat the heat. Book this tour NOW so you won't miss out! We also did the wine tasting at the end, and we recommend the turkey/bacon club sandwich if you plan a meal there. They also had a nice selection of wine flights to choose from. Outdoors on the lawn the tables have umbrellas, and there are several cats wandering around which was a bonus.

This was a very nice road trip up to Cottonwood from Phoenix. The staff gave excellent instructions on how to operate the kayak and life vest were provided, which made me feel very safe since I am a non-swimmer. I would recommend water shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet. Also, waterproof backpack/fanny pack to store sunscreen, keys and cell phones. Some area's of the river were very shallow so if you do get stuck you can easily stand up and shift your kayak around. One thing is if you do travel as a group the current can push you kayak along which can cause you to move along without your other party members if they happened to get stuck. Once the water activities ended we all changed into some maxi dresses to enjoy wine tasting at Alcantara winery. There was live music and dancing outside, you can order food and purchase bottles of wine. There was plenty of seating that was socially distanced as well.
