What To Expect

Verde River

The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

This was such a great tour for our girls trip weekend to Sedona. The fall colors were gorgeous; the river was serene and relaxing and our guides ensured we had such a fun time. Getting to take in the beauty of the vineyard after the kayak trip and enjoy some delicious wine and food was the perfect ending! Will definitely make this an annual trip. Even if you are a beginner at kayaking and just enjoy some good wine and food, this trip is for you!

This was a lot of fun. We went October 2020 on a 60 degree sunny day and it was perfect weather. I’ve never been kayaking and did fine. Super relaxing and we even saw an owl!

Gorgeous fall day "going with the flow" of the Verde River enjoying the colorful fall leaves and an adventurous beaver along the way! The kayaking excursion ended with live music and wine tasting under the trees at Alcantara Vineyard. This was an absolutely perfect day and an awesome way to celebrate my husband's birthday! The tour was very organized and all guides and staff members were very welcoming. The trip down the river took us a bit more than two hours because we were enjoying the day so much we did not paddle that hard! (-: There were enough mini-rapids to make the journey interesting and enough trees to make most of the journey gloriously shaded!
