What To Expect

Verde River

The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

Super nice staff! Kayaking was fun. It was self guided so you could take as little or as long as you wanted. Highly recommend it if you want a little break from hiking.

What a great day!! We didn't have a guide for the actual trip down the river, but Wyatt gave excellent guidance before we embarked out on the water. Winery after kayaking is great! Very good wines, great atmosphere. Highly recommend this excursion.

what a delightful water experience, The inflatable kayak was very easy to get in and get out of and I have arthritis in both knees but was able to do this all by myself. The waterway itself was easy to navigate most was just mild current with several times going through ripples that were a lot of fun sometimes you ended up going through backwards because the way the current pushes you but never felt any danger just fun. The employees Wyatt and Ashley were delightful very informative and very helpful getting the kayaks in and out of the water. we followed up with the wine tasting at the Alcantara Vineyard which was absolutely lovely the tables outside gave you a beautiful view of the mountains. this excursion was easy enough for older people and children. I would definitely do this trip again.
