What To Expect

Verde River

The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

With the pandemic we were looking for fun adventures outdoors. The wine kayak trip was perfect. Care was taken concerning safety and our guide provided great directions and instructions. We enjoyed the Verde River for about 1 1/2 hours then ended our trip in a shaded yard outside the vineyard with wine and antipasto. Great way to spend an afternoon!!

For our anniversary, my husband and I spent a weekend in Sedona and wanted to do something a little different that past weekend get-aways. Water to Wine was our choice and Verde Adventures did not disappoint. It had been quite some time since we were in a Kayak, but the support from the team put us at ease and we were off! The Verde river was perfect - calm waters AND some rippling water! After the trip - changed clothes and spent a lovely time at the Altavera Vineyard - live music in the yard and a lovely day of wine tasting and cheese.

We really enjoyed this tour. The river was great and toward the end of the tour it routes you though some nice shaded areas. The wine tasting was great as well. We loved everything we tasted. Ordered a few glasses of wine and enjoyed a cheese board. They even had live music, which was a treat. Would highly recommend and will do again when family come to town.
