What To Expect

Verde River

The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

My friend and I had a blast on the river! We 100% want to come back and bring more people! The kayaks were easy to use, but we kept spinning because of the slight winds.

I saw so many good reviews so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out for my 21st and we’re both so glad we did! We saw a few of reviews saying to bring a hat and that is 100% a must! Neither one of us have been kayaking before but the river was so nice and easy.. Definitely perfect for beginners! Free to go at your own pace which was nice. The water was pretty murky but other than that the views were gorgeous(: there are plenty of areas to pull off to the side so we stopped to eat a little snack and it was so relaxing! Staff was all so sweet from the bus ride to the instructors to the vineyard! Someone also said the wine flights were a rip off so we just used the $20 credit to go towards a bottle of their signature white wine and the cheese board! (Individual cheese board pictured) SO YUMMY! Overall, it was such a great experience I would recommend this trip to a friend for sure!
