What To Expect

Verde River

The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

My friends and I really enjoyed the water to wine kayak trip. The staff was super friendly, and provided very detailed instructions & directions to the location so there were no surprises. The verde river was perfect for beginners like me - the river moved slowly and there were a few mild rapids - nothing scary. In fact, it was quit relaxing. Plus, we were able to paddle at our own pace which gave us time to take in the surrounding trees, birds, etc. and snap a few pics. The bonus was the wine tasting at the end - vineyard staff was very friendly, and we enjoyed a flight of wine with a couple charcuterie boards. Perfect way to end the trip. Thanks for the great experience and perfect girls getaway! Would definitely book again!!!

My boyfriend and I did this together and we had a blast! We really enjoyed being able to go at your own pace so we could really soak up the experience. We hung at the back of the pack and made a few stops on some sand banks so we could hop in a get wet. The winery at the end was so pretty! Very nice grass area with shade to enjoy your wine and cheese board! I definitely recommend this when planning your next trip to Sedona or Cottonwood.! 5 outa 5!
