What To Expect

Verde River

The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

So much fun, it was a small work out but So worth it. You do get a little wet, but if you get lucky like us it started to rain 🌧 making it even better. So much fun !!

Beautiful river scenery. Kayaking was exciting enough to be fun without being scary. They didn't provide guides even though the event description specifically said that guides would be included. So we were initially alarmed by that. But it didn't cause us a problem when it was all over with. Our only complaint is that the kayaking was too short - we were done in an hour and we aren't experienced kayakers in any way.... The winery was very nice and enjoyed some nice wine and snacks there. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience.
