4 Day Half Dome Backpacking

Overview

Our 4-day Half Dome guided backpacking tours are specially designed to make your journey to the summit as spectacular as possible! This guided tour kicks off in Yosemite Valley. From there we’ll hit the trail and guests will hike and camp alongside fabled waters like Sunrise Lakes or the Merced River. Our expert guides make your experience 5-star with delicious camp-cooked cuisine and comfort provisions around camp, while on-trail pointing out the lesser-known factual gems that surround you. The magic climaxes either on the final evening or the final morning, when you’ll climb the cables up Half Dome’s summit for a truly spectacular sunrise or sunset.

I went of this trip with 5 of my friends and we made some new friends along the way (including our guides Critter and Nicole). I am not an avid backpacker, but now I feel that this is an activity I would love to do more often. Our guides were helpfull, informative, and a pleasure to be around. They were also great cooks and quick to get a fire started at the end of a long day of hiking. During our trip it snowed so this fire was much appreciated and necessary. We even had a birthday boy on our trip so Critter and Nicole baked a birthday cake (how they did that with such little supplies impressed me). This is the kind of trip that is going to be different for each excursion, and I am saying that if you are going to Yosemite this is the company and people you should use for a guided trip.

I can't even describe how amazing this trip was. The group was phenomenal, minus one debbie downer (not the guides!). I cannot stress how important the guides were. Critter Frogger and Trixie Juicie Lucie were seriously the most amazing guides I have EVER had. Encouraging, knowledgeable, and hilarious. Our group honestly would not have made it up the Half Dome if it wasn't for them. The only thing that would make this trip better: If Critter and Kirsten get married on top of Glacier Point in August. :) Oh Kitty Fox!!!
