Big Cypress National Preserve
Me and my family are 6th generation "Gladesmen" and we'd love to show you the Big Cypess National Preserve. This is the largest subtropical swamp in the USA, where plants and animals grow and live no where else in the world. See the elusive Panther, black bear, wading birds, deer, its a photo opportunity of a life time!

Unlike some other swamp buggy tours down here, Captain Steve appears to have a pretty harsh cancellation policy. There is a $12.50 booking fee and $50 deposit that you will not get back if you have to cancel. With the uncertainty of COVID right now, most places are being extra accommodating with cancellations as trip plans can change unexpectedly. When I emailed to inquire about his cancellation policy, I received a fairly rude email telling me I shouldn't bother booking: "I would suggest not booking then. Thankyou" I'm sure Captain Steve gives good rides, but he is also on the more expensive end and definitely not the only one doing this so make sure to check out some of the other providers in the area. Big Cypress Swamp Tours and C & G Big Cypress Swamp Buggy Tours both seem to offer almost identical rides for less money and more flexible cancellation policies.

So let me get this straight you didnt even take my tour and you give me a 2 star review? You asked me what you should do about my cancellation policy it's to much,I told you if you thinknits to much dont book with me book with someone else,so for being honest I get a 2 star review. I'll never understand some people.

I chose Captain Steve's Swamp buggy tour because I heard he's a 5th generation in the Everglades area and I wanted an extensive tour that would take me deep into Big Cypress. Ralph was the driver and he definitely did know the area, terrain, plants, animals, history, etc. The ride is a fun journey with sloshing through water and bumpy roads. The scenery is amazing. We were told all about the different ecosystems, how gators created cypress domes, how the pythons are affecting the area, etc.
