6 Hours Private Civil Rights Tour of Montgomery

Overview
This tour will take us to some of the most important sites that defined the Civil Rights Movement in Alabama. Our journey will take us on a definitive and emotional story of the civil rights era that changed the fabric of American life and sparked a movement. From the pulpit where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. preached to the spot where Mrs. Rosa Parks refuse to give up her seat on a Montgomery City bus. Afterwards, we'll continue on to the Civil Rights Memorial center and many other sites related to the Civil Rights movement. It's been said that those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

National Memorial for Peace and Justice
The National Memorial for Peace and Justice was conceived with the hope of creating a sober, meaningful site where people can gather and reflect on America's history of racial inequality. Set on a six-acre site, the memorial uses sculpture, art, and design to contextualize racial terror. The national memorial is a sacred space for truth-telling and reflection about racial terror in America and its legacy.

What a great way to see Montgomery, Alabama! Mr. Williams is a knowledgeable, articulate tour guide. He took us all over Montgomery for our Civil Rights tour, and included side visits of Hank Williams grave, and the F. Scott Fitzgerald House. He started with a brief overview of Alabama history, supplied water, a comfortable van, and an informative narration for our 3 hour experience. I highly recommend his services.

Jake was an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable about Alabama history and hospitable. He came in the Airbnb home we were staying at and gave us a 30 minute overview before we even got in the van.
