The museum itself is a beautiful tribute to what happened here. However, for me it was very difficult to walk through the museum and see the remnants of that tragic day. I cried the ENTIRE time I was inside. This is quite possibly one of the saddest places on earth. In a beautiful and peaceful surrounding, but extremely sad. I visit the plaza, whenever I am in New York, but the museum is a one time event. Once you go it changes you. I would recommend it as a place to experience once and also to see the survivor tree in the plaza. However if you knew someone that was affected by the events of 9/11, it is a difficult space to walk through. I only have it 4 stars because for me it’s a difficult place to see.

As everyone lived this tragedy it especially hit my airline family. I was a Flight Attendant on 9/11 and was in absolute shock while on a sit (break) my company scrambled to get hotel rooms for all of us as we knew we would not be flying again for a while. I don’t talk much about it and when we went to the memorial and museum it brought back feelings I suppressed. It is imperative that no one ever forgets that tragic moment.

The helplessness of the victims and the courage of the rescuers made their marks on me. The human spirit cannot be suppressed. And the Divine Plan of survival remains.
