Having been to New York previously we didn’t have time to visit the 9/11 museum and memorial so decided to do it this time. We found out that we could get free admission on a Monday if we pre booked tickets online at 7am for between 3pm - 5pm. We headed inside the museum after seeing the huge memorials and the survivors tree. The museum was interesting but 2 hours is not enough time to see everything. We found (we did it ourselves) that most people spend a lot of time walking around and then go inside the special exhibitions. Unfortunately the majority of the most insightful items and information is inside the special exhibition rooms (usually in our experience special exhibitions are the smaller exhibitions). We didn’t even get half way around the exhibition before a staff member came in and started shouting that the museum closes in 15 minutes and there was still a lot to see. At this point we started to exit and it took us near enough 15 minutes just to get out of the special exhibition room! Definitely worth a visit and if we do return to New York we will come back. Also just to add be aware that you have to go through security screening to enter so make sure you don’t go shopping and the head in.

I can not put into words this experience, it's a place you will need to see and feel for yourself. Watching the disaster unfold in 2011 to physically being in the grounds was a feeling you will not comprehend. I 100% recommend this tour , allow minimum of 2 hrs
