90-Minute Dolphin Watch Tour of South Padre Island

Overview
Enjoy a one and a half hour South Padre Island Dolphin Watch aboard the newly renovated Murphy's Law and see Atlantic Bottle-nose Dolphins in their natural habitat. During the tour, listen to the interesting and informative narration on the diverse marine life that lives within the waters surrounding South Padre Island. Keep an eye out for a 'pod', which may consist of 10 to 30 dolphins. The guided tour will also include the southernmost U.S. Coast Guard Station, Boca Chica Beach, the current location of Space X, and the South Padre Island Jetties...entryway to the Brownsville Ship Channel where one of the largest Shrimp Fleet calls home. Then end it with a unique view of a beautiful south Texas sunset right there on the water! If youā€™re new to ocean, or just a visitor to the island it is a must do! Staff was great and saw a lot of wild dolphins in their natural habitat. Hands down the best money I spent on the island. For a little more than it cost to go to the crappy DQ you can ride on a boat for 90 minutes and see dolphins no brainer lol. My wife, kids, and myself loved it. Will go again next trip.

The crew was friendly and informative. One of the guides answered questions about fish he was showing after the tour for my curious kiddo. Them showing and telling the fish are what got my little one who was scared during some waves in the first part of the tour to perk up and start having fun, so I was thankful for that aspect of the tour. It was cool to see SpaceX, dune restoration project, and some small dolphins while enjoying the salty sea breeze. I would like to see more attractions and indoor shopping on the island requiring masks. Itā€™s posted everywhere as a requirement, but not enforced at all. I get that itā€™s tough to confront people, but to have a rule posted that nobody follows or enforces never sits right with meā€”seems like a slippery slope. You ask people to follow rules about not feeding the wildlife and making sure trash gets into designated spacesā€”whatā€™s the difference? A couple of the sanitizer pumps when you get off the boat were empty. :( The boat wasnā€™t too packed room-wise, but still, being elbow to elbow with strangers not masked puts a bit of a damper on things/adds some anxiety. I hope it doesnā€™t come back to bite us and all of the businesses that wonā€™t ask people to follow rules.
