This Nashville walking tour is a fun-filled experience uncovering the empowering stories behind the key women and men of the civil rights movement. You will hear stories about history’s fiercest women and most courageous men.

We'll visit the Davidson County Courthouse and stand on the front steps where civil rights leader, Diane Nash, confronted the mayor demanding change. Then, discover how women played a central role in the planning, strategies, tactics, and actions of the movement — including the civil rights marches. Enter the Witness Walls, a secret art attraction with hidden images that has a math and science component.

In between stops, you will get the inside scoop on leading African American entrepreneurs and business leaders in Nashville today. With United Street Tours, you’ll take action by walking to celebrate equality.

I had such a Fabulous time walking and learning about the roles women in Nashville played in the Civil Right Movement. I will be going on more tours.

Chakita and her team are clearly very passionate and knowledgable about the area and black history. I loved seeing historical sites in a new light on this tour. Since we live near downtown, I'll be taking my friends and family on new tours when they come to visit. I'd highly recommend this tour if you'd like to see more than a white-washed history of Nashville.
