What To Expect

Phoenix Sonoran Desert Preserve

Your hot air balloon tour check in at the Deer Valley Airport Balloon Ride Parking Area, unless the roundtrip hotel transfers option is selected. Guests will float above the awe-inspiring Sonoran Desert viewing local landmarks, wildlife and plant life from above.

Camelback Mountain

Soar past iconic Camelback Mountain in the Phoenix Valley. This mountain is a favorite of local hikers and cyclists.

Downtown Phoenix

As the sun sets, you'll see Downtown Phoenix in the distance. As you come in to land, a table complete with linens and china awaits you in the heart of the desert, a clue to what you are about to enjoy! You'll be greeted with a traditional celebration that includes scrumptiously prepared gourmet cuisine from the award-winning Vincent’s on Camelback restaurant. First-time flyers will be treated to the legendary Balloonists Ceremony that balloonists all over the world have been sharing for more than a century.

My family traveled to visit my brother in Phoenix. One of the activities my wife wanted to experience was a hot air balloon ride. Unfortunately we booked for the next day through Groupon because it showed the date was available. We received confirmation via email for 2WEEKS from the date we had booked. Hot air balloon inc offered no assistance and placed the blame on Groupon and after calling Groupon the blame was then placed on a 3rd party (Viacom). After a completely frustrating run around, we were out for $800 bucks, were NOT able to take a balloon ride. and are now having to dispute the charge on our credit card. I would highly recommend that any person who anticipates wanting to use this company’s services, do so thru the company and NOT waste your money as we did thru Groupon.

This trip was everything we expected and MORE! If the spectacular views weren't enough, they were enhanced by the enthusiasm of our pilot. The entire crew clearly loved their job and had a camaraderie that was contagious. Our trip got extended because of prime wind conditions. The pilot didn't want to come down and neither did we! When we finally made our gentle descent to earth, we were greeted by champagne and candlelit tables complete with linens and tasty treats served to us by the crew. The sunset was gorgeous and we lingered to see the starlit sky before returning to the van for our return to reality. Truly a magical experience!

We found Captain Mike to be very grumpy, pushy and unpleasant to deal with. He only took the balloon up 2500 feet when most balloons in the air were at 4 - 5000 feet. Life is too short to deal with a grumpy old man, especially at these prices.

In terms of how high the balloon goes during your flight, it is very much subjective based on each pilot's experience and judgement of the wind speeds and directions found at different altitudes, as well as available landing sites and other factors. It is always our goal to provide guests with the most scenic flight, but also take into consideration these factors for passenger safety and enjoyment. For this reason, we can never guarantee how high you will go on any given flight, though we can promise that we aim to provide our guests with the best flight possible, as we know this may be the only time you have the opportunity to go in a hot air balloon.
