What To Expect

Phoenix Sonoran Desert Preserve

Your hot air balloon tour check in at the Deer Valley Airport Balloon Ride Parking Area, unless the roundtrip hotel transfers option is selected. Guests will float above the awe-inspiring Sonoran Desert viewing local landmarks, wildlife and plant life from above.

Camelback Mountain

Soar past iconic Camelback Mountain in the Phoenix Valley. This mountain is a favorite of local hikers and cyclists.

Downtown Phoenix

As the sun sets, you'll see Downtown Phoenix in the distance. As you come in to land, a table complete with linens and china awaits you in the heart of the desert, a clue to what you are about to enjoy! You'll be greeted with a traditional celebration that includes scrumptiously prepared gourmet cuisine from the award-winning Vincent’s on Camelback restaurant. First-time flyers will be treated to the legendary Balloonists Ceremony that balloonists all over the world have been sharing for more than a century.

This is not what you see in movies. You get bunched in crappy vans for an 45min to get somewhere. You are herded into a basket that is separated for 2 people max per section but you will have 3 in there. The heat from the flame is torture. There is no real guide explaning much. You don't see the sunset as you land before that in a desert. The crew sets up a nice table with champagne. That was the best part. The gourmet meal is a biscuit and a truffle chocolate. Gets cold while you sit there waiting for them to pack up. Another 30 min to get back. Total, we were gone 3 - 8pm. Would not do it again.

Took a beautiful afternoon, sunset flight with Johnathan. He was hilarious and kept us entertained before, during, and after the flight. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
