Alaska Helicopter and Glacier Dogsled Tour - ANCHORAGE AREA

Overview
The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 4 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a huge snow eld high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for an exhilarating ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over a 1,000 miles long, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

From our helicopter Pilot Pam to our dog sled musher Chad, this is a must do experience in Alaska. Pam was very knowledgeable about the glacier and truly showed us the beauty of Alaska. The views are beyond breathtaking. You are going to Alaska, you gotta spend the money and do this tour. And Chad all I can say is Thank You so much. As we were dogsledding, we lost our camera and Chad actually went back after the tour was over through our trail and found it. He didn't have to, but I sure was happy to have my Alaska adventures pics. Thank you Chad!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! The pilot/guides love sharing their backyard and it definitely shows during the tour! We are thrilled you were able to get your camera back so not to miss looking back at all your Alaskan Adventures!

We booked this tour through the Knik River Lodge. The helicopter departs right from the lodge. The flight includes mountain and glacier views. We saw bears, sheep, moose, and swans, plus incredible blue icebergs and long waterfalls. It is cool to skim right across the glacier! The dogsled portion was fantastic! You land at the top of the glacier and are greeted by 50-something dogs in their kennels eager to take you for a ride. It is the summer training area for veteran Iditarod musher Justin Savidis. Justin introduces you to the dogs, including puppies, and takes you on a training ride. It is clear he loves what he does and loves his dogs. We had a wonderful experience with him and his team! I highly recommend this tour!

Outstanding people and amazing view! Communication prior to the trip was spot on. Training and coordination of flight was great. Dogs, mushers and puppy were the best. It’s a once in a lifetime trip. If you’re in Alaska you have to go.
