What To Expect

Kachemak Bay State Park

Take a 2-hour (or longer) trip out on the water, catered to whatever your interests might be. Go see humpback and orca whales, birds, sea otters, or just check out the landscape as you cruise into deeper bays that push up against mountains and waterfalls. You can even choose what time of day to go. Are you into photography? Tailer your trip, depart early morning or late evening to capture images in the best light.

Captain Zach and First Mate Sally were terrific. They knew the bay and the wildlife very well. They showed us many types of birds, as well as otters with their babies on their bellies. They pointed out hiding spots for cormorants and bald eagles and even showed us an eagle robbing a gull’s nest. They showed respect for the animals, making sure not to disturb them but also getting us as close as possible. The ride was smooth and we could choose to be outside or inside with great views through the windows.

June 16, 2023 - we had a wonderful time with Captain Zach and his fine first-mate Sally - they made the boat trip amazing!!! The crew made this wildlife tour so much fun by spotting the otters, eagles, puffins, and other sea birds - while we didn't get a whale to come close - they educated us on the beautiful sites of the Kachemak Bay. Definitely recommend this boat tour!!

Had a Wonderful time with Hippie John and his 1st mate Christine.....saw some very cool stuff and we had a great weather day in which to enjoy it....The boat feels pretty new and has a lowering front gate making it easier to get onto land when we looked at a cool waterfall...saw some puffins, bald eagles, mountain goats and numerous other birds....highly recommend them!
