What To Expect

Kachemak Bay State Park

Take a 2-hour (or longer) trip out on the water, catered to whatever your interests might be. Go see humpback and orca whales, birds, sea otters, or just check out the landscape as you cruise into deeper bays that push up against mountains and waterfalls. You can even choose what time of day to go. Are you into photography? Tailer your trip, depart early morning or late evening to capture images in the best light.

By far one of the best outfits iv ever booked with. This was a one stop shop to really experience alaska. Captian john was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We were able to see all the wildlife that alaska offers, beautiful waterfalls and landscapes, along with a successful free diving spearfishing trip, then helped us fill our limits fishing with rod and reel. I can’t say enough good things about Captain John and ColdwaterAK. My trips with them are all wildly memorable. Bucket list gold mines I’ll cherish forever. We went on 2 trips with John this past week - one in great weather and one pretty rough weather. I love booking through Coldwater because their boats are bigger than other water taxis and I felt much safer. John is an expert captain and navigates waves and weather very well. You’re not going to find that everywhere! John is VERY knowledgeable about Kachemak Bay and the state park, and is full of interesting stories of past adventures. My family left very impressed. We finished our second hike early and John was able to come right out to scoop us off the beach. He also pointed out a ton of wildlife along with way we otherwise wouldn’t have seen! Otters, puffins, even a little bear family! Abigail and Sally in the office are very friendly and attentive - we were very well taken care of by them. As a local Alaskan I 100% recommended booking a trip through Coldwater for all the reasons. You won’t regret it.
