What To Expect

Kachemak Bay State Park

Take a 2-hour (or longer) trip out on the water, catered to whatever your interests might be. Go see humpback and orca whales, birds, sea otters, or just check out the landscape as you cruise into deeper bays that push up against mountains and waterfalls. You can even choose what time of day to go. Are you into photography? Tailer your trip, depart early morning or late evening to capture images in the best light.

In very touristy Homer Spit, Alaska who would expect such an educational and fun wildlife tour? Not us until we boarded their boat with Capt. John. He was friendly and professional, tailoring how much time and where to go depending on your interests. We saw interesting jellyfish, sea otters (with babies), eagles, newly hatched gulls and so many species of birds. We are wildlife photographers and decided to take a chance on this tour not thinking that it would be as amazing as it was. Have you ever heard a human mimic an eagle call - exactly ?? Well, Capt. John's the guy. I mean exactly!! It was so worth the time, money and lack of easy parking to take this tour. Will do again if in Homer! Thanks so much Capt John and Coldwater Alaska!

We had an amazing and unforgettable tour with Captain John who was very knowledgeable and extremely nice with our kids. We got to see whales from close as he knew where they would be going. Can’t recommend this tour with Captain John enough

What a spectacular trip!! We were hoping to see humpback whales on our nature trip and boy did Captain John deliver! Expertly piloting the boat through some rough seas, he drove us to the heart of the nearby “whale country” (and no, even people like me who usually get motion sickness, had zero problem aboard). He made sure that every one of us got the views of a lifetime. It was a day we will remember forever! Thanks again Captain John and Coldwater!
