What To Expect

Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon

Rise early to begin your hot-air balloon experience. Stop into the office for check-in, then ride to the balloon launch site (which varies day-to-day depending on weather). Your pilot begins the process of inflating the balloon when you arrive. You can even help out the crew during the inflation process for a more hands-on experience. As you float high above the ground, enjoy incredible birds-eye views of the Rio Grande Valley. Your pilot determines the route for the day depending on the wind’s direction. You may fly over the city of Albuquerque and even dip low enough to wave at people or skim the Rio Grande River. Throughout your flight, your pilot shares informative commentary about the landscape beneath you. After approximately one hour in the air, your pilot lands the balloon and the ground crew comes to meet you. Celebrate your flight with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and a commemorative flight certificate before returning to the original starting point.

This ride was a fun and a peaceful adventure. Our pilot, Dean Donley, was a knowledgable tour guide as well as a smooth pilot. It was even enjoyable listening and watching dogs trying to find us without looking up. Going close to the water in the Rio Grande was a hoot! This senior, short, and chunky lady appreciated the help by the ground crew getting in and out of the basket. They were all gentlemen!! Thank you Rainbow Ryders for a dream fulfilled!

We love how we can fly over the city area and then with just a drop of elevation can completely immerse ourselves in nature as we dip into the gorgeous Rio Grande. And, of course, it always adds to the fun when you see the tiny people, cars, and dogs from way up in the balloon! Wow! They are not joking when they say this is a bucket list experience. Especially at Rainbow Ryders, where their service is as amazing as the ride and views itself! Dean Donley was our sunrise pilot and what a great man! Kept everyone laughing, made us feel safe and in the know of what was going on. He had an answer for every question and had a smile to back it up! I would recomend this to everyone, to take a chance and experience something incredible, especially with the wonderful staff and crew of Rainbow Ryders. Thank you Dean!!!

The entire experience with Rainbow Ryders was excellent, starting with the booking and ending with the post-flight champagne. The flight itself was truly spectacular, thanks to the experienced and knowledgeable piloting by Dean. He did his utmost to accommodate us, including my elderly mother. The flight was smooth, as was the landing. Highly recommend!
