Beautifully presented museum which makes even adults go ā€˜wow’. We loved that most of the displays are arranged as ā€˜scenes’ which help you to much better understand the relationships between animals in particular. I really enjoyed the section dedicated to Roosevelt’s conservation efforts. The museum has a logical layout and we managed to get round it all as a result (we spent 4.5 hours here). They also have an app you can use to navigate it, although we were quite satisfied with the old-school paper map. I recommend arriving early as it is much quieter at 10am than it is later on in the day. It is by far the best Natural History Museum I have visited (compared to London). Minor points of improvement would be touching up some of the animal name signs as there are letters missing which make it look tired in places. The dinosaur floor feels quite cramped when there is so much space dedicated to much smaller exhibits on Floor 1.

Tour instructions clearly state that you should make a timed entry appointment with the museum to exchange your voucher for tickets. This is easy and helps you avoid two lines, the ticket line and the untimed entry line. Therefore, please ignore the negative reviews from people who refuse to read or follow simple directions. We did not have any trouble and probably saved an hour on line or in cue. The museum itself is world class.

Takes a decent chuck of time to get through but is worth it! The Invisible World exhibition is particularly impressive! A must-go to when in New York. Don’t be dishearten by th long queues in the morning- they move really quickly!
