Amish Experience Visit-In-Person Tour

Overview
Many visitors to Lancaster seek out meaningful personal contact with the Amish community. Imagine visiting three Amish properties where our longstanding relationships allow you to become their guests during your stay. This exclusive tour is limited to 14 guests, and provides the rare opportunity to meet and talk to various Amish where they live and work. The three stops: Visit an Amish farm at milking time, go behind-the-scenes with an Amish craftsman, and then sit and chat with an Amish family right in their home.

This is an excellent tour - not touristy, just great small-group discussions, Q&As with the Amish. We've gone a few times over the years, taking relatives and friends and not only do our guests love it but we learn something new each time. Our guide, Jim, was friendly and knowledgeable and has an real relationship with the Amish we visited.

Kent was an excellent guide! He has a deep understanding of the Amish people's history (from their original homeland on the border of Switzerland and Germany and religious freedom pursuit in the new land). He has an excellent relationship with the Amish communities and built wide networking with Amish families, which was why we could visit three Amish families and enjoyed deep communications with them about their daily lives. We visited three families: a dairy farmer, a leather maker, and a retired concrete contractor. We are very impressed by the kindness of the Amish people and our fantastic guide Kent. It was the high point of our Lancaster trip, and we are so happy we attended the Amish in-person visit.

We really enjoyed our tour to Amish dairy farm, buggy shop, and home visit. Our tour guide had so much information to share and knew so many of the Amish personally that we really felt like we got an inside look to their life. It was a wonderful way to spend the evening, even our young teens had a great time.
