This is now my second time doing the Whale-Watching excursion in Anacortes and I am definitely pleased! Both times I have gone have been great and I look forward to going back in the warmer months of the year. The first time I went we had two rare occurrences happen. We saw two humpback(I believe humpback) whales swimming together which one of the tour guides mentioned is rare. Later that day we saw about 3-4 Orca pods attempting to feed in the same area which we were also told it is rare to have that many pods at one time in an area. The second time was fantastic as well. We were offered to try some of the seaweed that was harvested by one of the tour guides(I did not try). The first time we did not get too close to the sea lions but the second time we were really close which made for great photos and video. All in all, whale-watching is great because it is never the same and you never know what will happen during each encounter. I highly recommend doing the Whale-Watching with BlackFish Tours by Outer Island Expeditions. This is something that all ages can enjoy and have fun with!

This was so much fun to do. Our captain was Matt and his crew was Alex and Dawn. They were so knowledgable, entertaining and did their very best to get us all the sighting possible of all the marine life they could find. They told us about the islands around us, the animals we were seeing and they took the time to get to know all the passengers. It was a fantastic time and we would absolutely recommend them!!

I traveled to Washington with my brother and booked an excursion not knowing what to expect. We had such a great time! Drew, Alex, and Dawn were so knowledgeable and courteous. And Drew's got jokes! LOL We were on the boat for over 4 hrs, we saw so much wildlife - seals, a dolfin, cormorants, sea lions, etc, and we spotted humpback whales and a minke whale. Not as close as I would have liked and I thought we would see more but I was not disappointed, the ride and the company was that great and we learned a lot about whale behavior. The scenery around the islands is breathtaking and just being on the water, totally worth it!
