What To Expect

Navajo Nation

Travel through one of the most biodiverse stretch of highway from Flagstaff at 7000 feet, the Navajo Nation, and the red rocks of Glen Canyon before arriving at Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend

Next, it's off to Horseshoe Bend. Take an approximate 0.75-mile (1.2-km) hike that brings you to one of the best overlooks. At a point not far downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam, the Colorado River meanders around a rock promontory, creating the horseshoe-shaped loop beloved by visitors and photographers from around the world. As you approach the edge, take in the wonderful view. Please note: You'll hike a total of 2 miles (3.2 km); comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

Antelope Canyon

At Antelope Canyon, follow your Navajo guide through a narrow slit in the earth where you’ll see the sculpted sandstone cliff. Sunlight from overhead creates shafts of light that pass into the canyon, making it even more beautiful. Descend ladders into the depths of the canyon to discover more of this serene place, and take photos with help from your guide about using the right settings on your camera for the light and the best angles for taking interesting shots. Antelope Canyon is a photographers dream.

The weather was a little dreary, but our guide made it a wonderful trip. We learned a lot about the history of the area and (inside joke) about Ponderosa pine trees and mullein. The sites we saw will never be forgotten. Thanks.

The trip was amazing! Highly recommend fitting it into your trip! Our guide was great. He was a wealth of information and we enjoyed all of his stories. He was so nice and definitely well versed on the area. The sites were uniquely breathtaking! They are both places that should be on the bucket list!! The photos came out awesome! It was a long day but spaced out nicely with the stops. The lunch and snacks were good, too! :

My husband and I have wanted to visit Antelope Canyon for a while and decided after reading great reviews to let Grand Canyon Adventures do the driving for us. Our tour guide Marcia was great and very knowledgeable. The two hour drive to Horseshoe Bend was enjoyable with all her knowledge of the area. After an hour at Horseshoe we had lunch at Glen Canyon Dam overlooking Lake Powell. Lunch was very good and we enjoyed time at the dam as well. Marcia took care of the tickets at Antelope Canyon and within minutes we were on our way to the entrance. The experience was beyond what we expected and one I will return again to see. I would highly recommend using Grand Canyon Adventures on any tour and hope you get Marcia as your tour guide.
