Horseshoe Bend
Next, it's off to Horseshoe Bend. Take an approximate 0.75-mile (1.2-km) hike that brings you to one of the best overlooks. At a point not far downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam, the Colorado River meanders around a rock promontory, creating the horseshoe-shaped loop beloved by visitors and photographers from around the world. As you approach the edge, take in the wonderful view. Please note: You'll hike a total of 2 miles (3.2 km); comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

Antelope Canyon
At Antelope Canyon, follow your Navajo guide through a narrow slit in the earth where youā€™ll see the sculpted sandstone cliff. Sunlight from overhead creates shafts of light that pass into the canyon, making it even more beautiful. Descend ladders into the depths of the canyon to discover more of this serene place, and take photos with help from your guide about using the right settings on your camera for the light and the best angles for taking interesting shots. Antelope Canyon is a photographers dream.

Our tour was very good. We got some awesome pictures of Antelope Canyon. Trent had a lot of information to share about the area as he took us to the different locations.

To begin with there was a snafu, while on vacation GCA called me while I was hiking - they wanted to confirm my reservation and ask what we wanted for lunch. Being on vacation I thought I had goofed up my dates, I confirmed and the next day my son and I drove from the South Rim to Flagstaff for the tour. When we arrived we were told that our reservations were for the next day! They call and confirm 2 days in advance for some reason. That's a 1 1/2 hour drive leaving at 5 AM to arrive in time, I asked if we could do the tour that day and was told no, they were booked. I asked if I could cancel and was told Yes, but I would forfeit my whole amount. I was ticked, I left in a huff and had it not been for the large amount of money I would have bagged the whole thing. Next day another 5 AM on vacation, another 1 1/2 hour drive and let me tell you. I AM SO GLAD I went. Our tour guide was Evan - very pleasant guy full of useful information. The Horseshoe Bend was not quite what I expected and our time was short - it took 15 minutes to walk down to it - we got about 10 minutes and then 15 minutes back. Next was a trip to the dam where we learned a lot and had a delicious packed lunch. At Antelope Canyon I found out that I had to climb down ladders, up ladders and go into a fairly deep cave, I am claustrophobic and have bad knees. So just warning others it is a bit tougher than you might think - our Indian Guide was Ryan and he was fantastic. Another lady in our group was more claustrophobic than I and everyone worked together to get her through it so I was able to push my fears aside. The canyon is a wonder, beautiful, something you have to experience to appreciate. Ryan had names for many of the formations and I felt so self satisfied when I climbed up the last ladder and into the open. If you are going to the Grand Canyon - this is a must see, you will not be disappointed and you will make a memory that will last a life time.

Hi Melita, Thank you for your review. We are so happy that wonderful memories were created during your time with us. As far as the "Snafu", be assured that we will look into this further to see if any of our communication was misleading. We attempt to set up multiple means of communication for our guests, so that you all can feel comfortable with questions you may have for the tour. These are completed by website, email, and the 48 hour out phone call to confirm everything needed. Grand Canyon Adventures prides itself on the organization and communication for our tours. We want to take all the guess work out of seeing the incredible places that Northern Arizona has to offer. As I mentioned before, we will take this time to review our communication to make sure that our protocols acted as they should have. Thanks again for the review, and we hope you will remember the area fondly into the future!

My FiancƩe & I had such a good time on the Grand Canyon tour with Grand Canyon Adventures, we signed up for this one too & had no expectations other than the guide said it was their most popular tour. Well, well, well... Much to our surprise, it was incredible. Horseshoe Bay was absolutely beautiful and Antelope Canyon was simply unbelievable. This is going to sound a little crazy, but if I could only do one (this or the GC tour), I think this one wins. It's that great!
