Aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be predicted with 100% accuracy. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to see the aurora borealis, as Weather conditions are constantly changing and other conditions may also change.
We would not cancel due to lack of lights or cloudy skies.
Even if it snows a little, the tour will not be cancelled because the weather may change.
Dangerous weather conditions (heavy snow, rain, icy roads) and emergencies may result in cancellations.
Because of the natural things involved we have a NO REFUND policy.

The same cancellation policy applies to cancellations due to flight or train delays.

This tour is available for a minimum of two people.
Pickup services are available only for major hotels within Fairbanks city. Please note that we are unable to provide pickup services from Airbnb or similar accommodations.
Arrival at the lodge will be around 10:30 PM, with the stay lasting until 2:00 AM.
There are about 10 gradual steps to the entrance.

The house itself is very comfy and Michi is so kind, but I truly wish the trip had been cancelled. What’s the point in driving over an hour when we all knew the sky was covered in clouds?

Thank you for visiting our lodge. As stated on the booking site, our tours are not canceled due to cloudy skies. This is because the weather in this region is highly unpredictable, and conditions can change suddenly, allowing for aurora sightings even when the forecast is cloudy. Additionally, We offer an extremely flexible 24-hour cancellation policy for our guests, which gives you the option of tracking the weather and the sun activity leading right up to the day before the tour, with the option to receive a full refund if you don't feel the odds are favorable. If guests have not cancelled prior to 24 hours before the tour, we do proceed. Last night, while there were periods of cloud cover, the sky cleared at times, revealing stars, and the aurora was visible. I hope you have a wonderful experience during your time in Alaska.

Had an amazing experience at Aurora Husky Lodge! Michi and his wife were wonderful hosts and welcomed us to their cozy cabin with comfy couches, drinks, and snacks. The evening was cloudy, but Michi was tracking all of the info and the lodge kept us all warm while we waited for the Aurora to be visible. Right before we called it a night, we got some beautiful shots of the Aurora!
