Phil was one of the most knowledgeable tour guide I’ve come across. The facts we learned were very interesting provided in a comfortable environment. Visiting the Amish families was very fulfilling and heartwarming. And the food was to die for!!HIGHLY recommended!

My sister and I surprised my mom with this dinner for her birthday. Our tour left promptly and our driver/guide Michael was full of info about the Amish and Mennonite community in the Lancaster area. We had a wonderful dinner with Sarah and her three children. Lots of delicious homemade food, much of it from her large garden. She was so sweet to bring out a candle on my mom's dessert and everyone sang Happy Birthday. My mother was very moved. Sarah played her harmonica and sang, which was lovely, as well. My only critique of the experience was that our group was so large. 15 participants including our driver. We were aware in advance that we were to be picked up in a 14 passenger van, so the tour info was in no way misleading. I just feel that a group about half the size would have allowed for more personal interaction with the host family, which I would have enjoyed so much more. That said, I would still recommend this tour.

Thank you for the review...although rare and mainly occurs on weekends, our groups can indeed be up to 14 guests. The level of interaction with the families is largely up to the each individual. We hope you join us again!

We didn’t quite know what to expect, and the faces on our children when we told them what we were going to do were priceless. We were picked up at the community center by a van that took us on a scenic drive through the country. Our driver was on time but we got a late start due to one of the guests being late. We waited & waited. Annoying! I understand a 10 min or so grace period, but this ONE person’s lack of planning or direction or whatever her issue was was not everyone else on the tours problem! So rude! And Inconsiderate of driver to make us all wait, ultimately she never even showed, and ended up meeting us at the location. Finally, we arrived at the home of Sarah. We were greeted by her two children. So polite and welcoming. Lunch was ready! We sat right down and began. The food was amazing! True comfort food. Delicious and plenty of it. Chicken and meatloaf and tons of sides. And dessert, yum! It was such a wonderful cultural experience to be welcomed into Sara’s home, and was great to share this experience with our children. Highly recommend!!
