This was an excellent way to get a feel for the Amish way of life. I felt like I was given plenty of information and insight by our guide, and then the lunch provided by Sarah was wonderful. It was very special to be invited into Sarah’s home and she was very open to answering our questions.

We decided to take this tour after checking out " things to do in Lancaster Co.". Reading the great reviews here on TripAdvisor helped us decide. SO glad we DID!! Mike, the tour guide, was very laid back, friendly, and so very informative! We heard a lot of info that was new to us, as well as seeing buildings with a lot of history that normally we would have driven right past when on our own and never known about them! Mike also was great on Amish, Mennonite history, customs, etc, so that was extremely interesting, having grown up around them all his life. Really enjoyed learning so much more! Of course, the BEST part was the luncheon hosted by "Sarah"! Her children were in school now, so we did not get to meet them, but Sarah was just great!! She had quite the " layout", such a lovely country luncheon, and oh..my...GOODness!! Everything was SO delicious!! My hubby and I are both foodies, and were asking how she made this and that, (recipes) , it was THAT good! Most everything came fresh off their garden, but definitely something for everyone, with about a dozen things, including freshly baked bread, yummy meatloaf seasoned perfectly ( as were ALL the dishes), buttered potatoes, glazed sweet potatoes, FRESH creamed corn that was WONDERFUL, chow chow, homemade applesauce, a beautiful layered salad with a delicious homemade dressing, fresh green beans, homemade strawberry jam, creamy mac n cheese, etc, etc, etc! Definitely a " (I am picky, so was a little concerned it may be veggies or foods that I just don't eat, and, being in someone's actual home as a guest, was afraid to offend if was something like that, but, WOW, EVERY single thing was absolutely delicious, as was her " blueberry delight" dessert!) Sarah was delightful, and she even played her harmonica and sang for us for entertainment! She allowed us to stroll through her yard, garden, see ( and pet) her animals, and I was also interested in checking out her cottage that she uses for her VERY reasonably priced B&B, so we checked that out as well. ( cottage has lots of room to spread out, kitchen, bath, living room space, and 2 bedrooms) We will definitely be back, and, if her breakfasts are like her lunches, we may very well be staying here as well!😉👍 Highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in " seeing" more than just " driving past", to get to really know the area, it's history, and it's people!

If you are in the area, this experience is a must!!! The family was so warm and welcoming and the dinner was delicious! It was so special...probably the highlight of our trip! They taught us how to ride a scooter and showed us all around their place. Mike is wonderful to work with. He gave us so much information before arriving at our Amish family home. Such a fun time!!!
