If you are in the Marco Island area you have to experience a Craig Cat. Our guide "Scott" was simply great. Very knowledge of the area and all the creatures that reside there . Great way to see a small piece of the 10,000 Islands. After cruising through the mangroves and bay we stopped at an uninhabited island to go shelling and take a break. I was in the water cooling off and a large stingray swam right by me. Please note, a sting ray will not bother you unless you step on them. I experienced them before at Stingray City on Grand Cayman a few years ago. After our break we headed back, but on a different route. The Cats go 30+ mph and are a blast to drive. Very easy to drive. Throttle on the right, push steering rod forward to turn right, pull back to turn left. I own my boat and this such a hoot to drive. Catamarans don't lean in a turn like a monohull, they kind of slide around the turns. My wife and I had huge smiles on the entire excursion. Don't missing this experience if you are in the area. We booked online and it was a very simple. There are a limited number of Cats so be sure to book early. Enjoy the Ride !

On a recent vacation to Marco Island, a friend and I decided to do the "Backwater Adventure". On this excursion, you drive your own two person Craig Cat compact boat ( a small, two seater boat on what look like big water ski's). Once you get out past the no wake zone, you open the throttle and have the ride of a lifetime! The awesome guide, Jason takes the group on through the 10,000 islands mangroves and open waters where we saw UP CLOSE, more dolphins then we could count! Because the boats sit so low in the water, you can literally reach out and touch them if they get close enough to you. Most of them came within just a few feet of us, and one even dove right under me! We didn't see any manatees or turtles that day, although they often do. We stopped at one island to go shelling before heading back to the dock. The trip is not expensive and is so worth every penny! It was a crazy wonderful experience that I highly recommend!

How cool to drive a two person boat around the 10,000 islands? Very! It was so much fun and very exciting. The best part was being so close to the water. We saw many dolphins up close - closer than I've ever been. Many were with their babies. The guides took lots of pictures and will email them to you. That's a nice touch because you want to be able to steer your craft to get close to the wildlife and not see it through a viewfinder. We made our way to White Horse Key, where we got to go shelling. We were there about 40 minutes. The guides let you "play" with the boats when you're in the open water and that was a real treat. This 3 hour tour was a wonderful experience!
