Bay Fishing South Padre Island

Overview

The fishing on the bay is great fishing, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Whiting, and many others, including Red Fish. Bay fishing trips primarily target tasty sand trout and whiting but customers will also have opportunities to catch red drum and black drum. Customers can also bring their own gear if they desire, but Captain Murphy’s will not be responsible for it.

All persons fishing, ages 17 and older are required to have a valid Texas Saltwater Fishing License. You can easily purchase a fishing license online by going to Texas Parks and Wildlife website and Fishing License

Currently, there are no mask mandates or capacity limitations in place. You are welcome to wear a mask, but they are not required. We do make a practice of sanitizing the boat between trips, and our Captain and Crew frequently wash their hands.

The boat was big enough to carry everyone with plenty of room to move around during the actual fishing. The captain and the deckhand were courteous and kept us informed during the trip. There were plenty of poles and plenty of baits for the entire group. Since this was my first time fishing on a boat, I had a great time nonetheless.
